Commit Message

style: rephrase flattened em-dashes as real punctuation

87 fixes across the prose-heavy doc comments, README/Dockerfile/run.sh
prose, help text, and error messages: ` - ` replaced with commas, colons,
semicolons, or parentheticals. Left untouched (not prose dashes): the
subscript status strings and "{} - {}" format template, a blockquote
bullet, the shellcheck `-f gcc -` stdin arg, and arithmetic. Updated the
one test assertion whose expected output string changed. Builds + tests pass.
