fix(input-group): grouped buttons in any spelling sit above the input borders (#952)

The z-index raise in .input-group keyed on .btn, so a button written with
only its variant class slid under the adjacent input's border. The rule
now matches :is($btn-variant-selectors).

To let a forms module read the button selector list without moving the
button rules' emission point, the button knobs, the $button-variants map,
the selector list and the deprecated .btn-check selector move to
buttons/_variables.scss — a partial that emits no CSS. _button.scss
forwards it, so every existing consumer resolves the same names; the
compiled stylesheet is byte-identical apart from the two input-group
selectors (verified by compiling base and branch side by side). The
btn-variables and btn-variants doc captures point at the new file.
