test: make working-directory assertion portable on macOS

environment_directory_and_stdout_mapping_are_materialized set the child's
working directory to /tmp and compared the shell's $PWD against the literal
"/tmp". On macOS /tmp is a symlink to /private/tmp and the shell derives
$PWD from getcwd(3), which returns the canonical path, so the assertion
failed only on macOS. Canonicalize the directory first so the expected value
matches on Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD.
