Apply review feedback

- Drop the unused plugin-configuration lookup in the parser
- Strip only the final extension when deriving the child archive name,
  keeping dotted data-file stems intact and consistent with the
  auxiliary .h5 name
- Try the next config-file candidate when boss_analysis.yml is
  unreadable or malformed instead of giving up
- Correct the iteration description: numbering starts at 1, stored in
  descending order
- Add tests for the dotted-stem consistency and the config fallback;
  spell out the predicates of the hypothesis property test
- Untrack the upstream issue draft (kept locally, not plugin content)
