Fix `find_events` for multidimensional inputs using cftime calendars. (#2172)

### What kind of change does this PR introduce?
The code to get the `event_start` as a datetime object was broken for
multi-dimensionnal data when cftime objects were used. This fixes it by
vectorizing the function.

### Does this PR introduce a breaking change?
No.

### Other information:
I also added a small test for the function. This does not cover all the
cases, but at least it detects the issue fixed.
