This page contains important updates about Coveralls in 2023.
Read about our New Features and 2023 Roadmap including New Plans & Pricing below.
We spent much of 2022 improving performance, but we also delivered some new features we know you've been waiting for.
We hope you noticed that performance, in general, improved at Coveralls.io in 2022. That's due, primarily, to infrastructure upgrades and auto-scaling.
However, one of the other steps we took came from the discovery that some customers are simply outliers in terms of their use of our platform.
Click here to learn more about about:
Our Fair Use Policy - Logic that guarantees all repos have the same number of jobs processed as quickly as our system will allow
Coveralls Dedicated Cloud - New performance-oriented plans that let high-usage customers pay a little more to guarantee all their builds are always fast
The Performance Dashboard - To make our fair use policy feel fair, we leaned on transparency and developed the Performance Dashboard to let high-usage customers track their build times and identify when and why they start to slow
It’s nice to announce these during the holidays:
Better Bitbucket Support - Including PR Comments
Better Monorepo Support - Including Carryforward Flags and UI Improvements
Performance Dashboard - Performance insights for users with a lot of builds
Dedicated Cloud Plans - Plans that guarantee fast builds, every time
Better Support - Including Updated Documentation and New Support Channels
Enterprise Support for Cloud - New plan, Coveralls Pro + Enterprise Support, for customers who need custom SLAs and enterprise-level support
New Github Integration (Coming Soon) - A new, more secure Github integration with more granular permissions to reduce exposure on your crucial projects.
We’ll be introducing these features via email and Tweets in the coming weeks, so now is a great time to follow us on Twitter and share our profile with your colleagues.
If you're dying to know more about an unlinked feature in this list, please send us your question(s).
Some of these features are listed above but we’ll talk more about them here since you’ll really start using them in 2023.
Besides Better Bitbucket Support and Better Support for Monorepos, here’s what’s around the corner:
Several new plans that customize the Coveralls service to fit your needs:
New plans, with dedicated processing power, that guarantee fast builds, every time.
A new plan, called Coveralls Pro + Enterprise Support, for customers who need custom SLAs around security, support, or anything else.
We do our best to support our customers, but to do better we need support ourselves.
We’ve already started updating sections of our current docs, but by late Jan we’ll be rolling out a new docs site with an updated look and feel.
We’ve added a ticketing system—not one of those annoying ones that mess up the emails we exchange with you, just one that tracks them and lets us monitor progress better.
Look for new forms to appear on-site for submitting issues and feedback, and for more contextual links (like this one) that we hope you’ll use to reach out about the things you’re reading, or trying to do.
Finally, we’ll be experimenting with chat in the coming months, looking for ways it can enhance your experience with Coveralls Support.
This is one we know many customers—and folks who aren’t customers yet—have been waiting for: Our new, more secure, Github App-based integration with Github, which provides more granular permissions and improves the security profile of your crucial projects.
One of the things we’re committed to this year is listening to our customers more. You’ll see us reaching out more, in emails, tweets, and those contextual links we mentioned. It’s because we want your input on the Coveralls Roadmap, next year and beyond. We’ll be asking for your feedback on new features, and your vote on planned features; and we’re always open to your suggestions.
For the first time in eleven years, we are raising our prices.
We could say a lot about this, but what it comes down to is this:
We want to give you a good service at a fair price.
In fact, we want to give you a great service, at the best possible price at which we can afford to deliver it. But it’s become clear that we can’t do that for the same fees we’ve been charging since 2011.
Here's our hope:
That this won’t be a burden for you, and that you’ll stay with us.
So we mean it when we say:
If these changes cause any hardship for you, or if anything about our new plans and prices do not seem fair to you or the way you use Coveralls, please reach out to us.
We're willing to work with you, and we’ll do our best to find an arrangement that suits us both.
Now that that’s out of the way…
Below, we describe the changes that result in our new plans and pricing for 2023. ※ †
For a simple overview of our final plans and prices, please refer to our pricing page.
※
Existing customers have a 60-day grace period before their prices change.
At that time, we will move you to the plan that matches
your current number of repos and results in the
lowest possible price for you.
† Coveralls will always be free for open source.
As you read about these changes, here are some things we’d like you to keep in mind:
This is our first price increase in 11-years
Purchased in bulk, our pricing still remains $5 per repo, per month (with a bulk rate discount after 40 repos).
All Coveralls plans still support Unlimited Users
We remain the lowest-priced service in our category ‡
‡ For the great majority of customers.
We have added two (2) new paid plans between our previous Org plan, and our Pro plan, which previously covered unlimited repos.
The first plan, Org+, covers 20 repos. The great majority of our current Pro customers have between 10-20 repos, so, given this, most customers will be paying the same fees in 2023.
However, since we can't continue to offer unlimited repos (which implies unlimited usage) at the previous Pro rate, we created one more plan to cover 40 repos, our new "Pro" plan, which covers the remaining 80% of our current Pro customers.
Finally, we created a new Unlimited plan for customers above 40 repos, most of which represent agencies or other org types with an atypically high number of repos.
Here’s how it breaks down:
We’ll be running betas over the next few months to understand the lowest price at which we can afford to offer each of these plans. If you’d like to participate in one of these betas, please let us know.
This plan is for customers who want to remain on Cloud, but who require custom SLAs and enterprise-level support that can’t be delivered en masse.
Coveralls Enterprise, our on-prem solution, is our only product for which we charge per seat. 2023 pricing for Coveralls Enterprise is: $25/seat/month.
