words: raise error for directory argument

* Join paths with File::Spec catfile() as done in other scripts
* Indroduce regular usage() function
* Print usage string for bad options instead of "Bad options"
* Print error if readline() failed
* Avoid open() if word-file is a directory
* Explicitly close word list
* Delete counter variable $words which was unused
