* feat: discover standalone application metadata

Discover root application descriptors without recursive directory scanning, preserve repository and search-path precedence, and keep application names stable across container mounts.

* refactor: simplify standalone discovery and bound metadata reads

Keep the existing root-selection algorithm and simplify application recognition and regression coverage. Share a 1 MiB regular-file reader between root and component discovery, reject symlinks and special files, and handle malformed or excessively nested JSON.

Keep standalone applications visible with local components and resolve nested application and language directories to their owning project. Send language-selection notices to stderr so modes JSON remains valid, and extend existing regression coverage and configuration guidance.
