Sync Getting Started example in README with real example file

The embedded Getting Started snippet had drifted from
examples/example_basic.rb: stale copyright (2013-2022 vs. the file's
2006-2026), a leftover shebang and require 'stringio' the file no
longer has, and different variable names/output style from the
current file entirely. Replace the snippet with the file's current
content (minus the full BSD license paragraph, kept trimmed as
before) so the two stay in sync and the displayed copyright is
correct.
