fix(split): dismiss the scratch instead of splitting behind it

⌘D and the split button flipped `isSplit` while the scratch covered the
panes, so the layout changed under the cover and only showed up once the
scratch was hidden. A shown scratch is now dismissed instead (keep-alive,
so its shell survives), making either one the way back to the panes; a
full program overlay makes the press inert rather than rearranging panes
nobody can see. Control `session.split` is unchanged.
