* Add indexer clustering progress callbacks and optional parallel DCBC

Add caller-supplied indexing status observers with periodic clustering heartbeats, add observer-capable staged parent construction, and introduce feature-gated parallel DCBC distance computation while preserving deterministic outputs and explicit failure behavior.

* Handle observer panics in status callbacks

Catch panics from caller-supplied indexing status observers so optional progress reporting remains non-fatal, and add regression coverage for panic-safe observer delivery.
