* adding pid/vids to open_serial

* added mocking of serial.Serial and comports to unit tests

* added more text to docstring explaining the use of open_serial and removed port line in example

* fixed or disabled linting errors

* Improve error catching for open_serial with bad usb params

* Revert some formatting changes
