Quell more lints (#84)

* fix new lints from ruff v0.9.7

No longer need to exclude:
* "B018",   # useless-expression
* "ARG004", # unused-static-method-argument
* "RUF005", # collection-literal-concatenation
* "E501",   # line-too-long
* hash is not used for security, so md5 is fine
* "I001",   # unsorted-imports
* "ARG001", # unused-function-argument
* dry_run_distribution does not use `total_cells`: "ARG001", #unused-function-argument
