Template JSON directly to javascript objects

Why these changes are being introduced:

We were running into some encoding / serialization issues
when passing JSON strings to the HTML via templating, and
then parsing for the JSON viewer.  Looks as though there
was some redundant and unneeded serialization + parsing.

When JSON strings are templated directly to javascript
as objects, the json.dumps() encoding is sufficient and safe.

How this addresses that need:
* custom loadJSONData now expects an object vs a JSON string
* all invocations of loadJSONData receive an object
directly from jinja templating

Side effects of this change:
