Fix lint checking for pull requests (#361)

* introduce lint error to test houndci

* make some more lint errors for hound to complain about in theory

* Have travis run the linter

* Make npm run lint exit with an error when there are linting errors

* try out github super linter

* See what happens when we validate the entire codebase

* try some other configuration for the github super linter

* Try using a different github action

* Only run eslint on src spec and example directory

* Add more directories to eslintignore

* Remove github super-linter workflow as it has the same problems as hound

* remove hound config and make npm run lint lint everything

* turn linting back off in travis
