move back to in memory storage for metrics

performance tests showed that up to 40% of CPU time could be spent
handling the on-disk database, and 6 threads were started to do that,
while in memory metrics collection (in a BTreeMap) consume about 3% of
CPU time.

This does not mean that sled is slow, just that the target use case does
not fit well: very low data quantity, usable when debugging production
incidents (so low footprint), no need to keep the data for long

The data model that was developed using sled was adapted to the in
memory one
