Reimplement asciimaps with better full-core support

Asciimaps are complex and fragile. This reimplements them
from scratch but does not fix the fragility and complexity
issues. It does add a few things:

* Better testing
* Ability to write full core ascii maps (e.g. in grids editor)
* Ability to handle ascii maps with holes
* Ability to handle ascii maps with blank rows
