* While these instances may have been harmless, let us be consistent.
* The PEG grammar used a multi-byte whitespace char which is very subtle
  and prone to accidental breakage. Use an explicit unicode entity
  instead to make it more obvious. This makes it clearer that the
  mb_strlen in that one instance in SpanHandler should be mb_strlen
  and not strlen.
