3D viewer: fix mouse picking, which broke with background color change

Ingrid Andrade noticed the 3D viewer would brake if one misses a
clickable element when using Shift + Click for picking in the 3D Viewer
in current `dev`. The color set in the picking code was specified in the
wrong format after the 3D viewer learned to handle background colors.
The console showed many THREE.js warnings over an invalid color format.
Before, hitting the background when picking broke the 3D Viewer, because
no property reset was performed anymore after the attempted picking.
