Commit Message

Use new state file YAML

* Convert all occurrences of `save_state` to use the new
  `state_file.update` method

* Remove the `save_state` function

* Read the state file after parsing the configuration (rc)
  file and pass it to all `cmd_*` functions

* The configuration file (rc) storage is unchanged
