Minor import improvements

These help my IDE hide all the imports more effectively. And I've
reordered the imports to put Python system packages first, then other
external packages, then our internal packages. Putting the system ones
first will stop one of the possible complaints from pylint (not that I'm
in a hurry to do that analysis!) and putting the rest in that order just
seems plain sensible. And I deleted a bunch of wildly inaccurate and not
very useful comments about imports too…
