ENH: add gamma functionality for >8-bit LUTs  (#1626)

* TEST: added gamma ramp setting test and window cleanup to other tests

* BF: allow gamma LUT size to be based on runtime query

* BF: restore the original gamma ramp regardless of gamma settings on window creation

The problem was that setting the window gamma after window creation (e.g. ``win.gamma = 2.2``) did not allow the original gamma to be set on ``win.close()``.

* Added windows and mac support for LUT size retrieval, disabled on travis

* TEST: skip gamma test when in travis

* TEST: updated gamma test for backend refactor

* BF: window wasn't closing (AttributeError)

* TEST: gamma test travis workaround
