fix temporary name and bump version to 0.8.2

- my previous code included the process name (which in turn contains
  the filename). this tripped up the daemon as it has somewhat restrictive
  expectations of the directory name
- TmpName.make is now TmpName.dir which gives a dir name with only safe
  characters
- TmpName.dir includes the pid instead of the program name to avoid
  introducing unsafe characters
- tests now assert that the directory name is sound
