Refactor request/response handling to minimize copying (#73)

* Add a ByteBuffer class for zero-copy manipulation of byte arrays
* Switch response processing to use ByteBuffer
* Switch request handling over to ByteBuffer
* Remove old type definitions
* Use a thread pool when connecting to the brokers
* Add tests to validate all request and response schemas
