[[CHORE]] Improve reporting in project test suite

Previously, the project's test suite generated error messages which
included formatting directives related to text rendering. These
directives no longer modify the style of the text rendered to the
terminal; instead, they only introduce additional noise in the failure
reports.

- Remove the formatting directives to improve the readability of error
  reports
- Expand the logic that generates error messages to improve the
  readability of the test suite's source code
- Suppress test title in cases where it is not specified
- Consistently report expected character position
