appdv-fill-absolute: better handling x-axis overflow

for x-axis (left/right scroll) we now set to hidden and enable
text-overflow. This is really the only thing that makes sense in the
case of normal edit fields (i.e. not bigfields) since we're now forcing
the field to match its container instead of teh other way around.
left/right scrollbars are hardly ever what you would want
