Refactor ->inject_asset_controllers to call subroutine

Moved the bulk of the logic in the inject_asset_controllers method into
a new, per-controller method _inject_single_asset_controller, with the
original now simply looping and calling it. This is being done to add
flexibility to be able to call the logic to inject one-off asset
controllers easily
