chore: widen react peer range, drop gh-pages, harden CI permissions (#66)

Repo/CI hygiene from the quality-pass deferred list:

- #9 widen peerDependencies.react ">17.0.2" -> ">=17.0.0". The old range
  needlessly excluded 17.0.0-17.0.2; the hooks only use APIs available
  since 16.8. Pure widening — non-breaking.
- #12 remove the dead `gh-pages` devDependency and `deploy` script.
  GitHub Pages is deployed by pages.yml via the OIDC artifact mechanism
  (actions/upload-pages-artifact + deploy-pages), not the gh-pages
  branch/package, so both were unused.
- #11 add least-privilege `permissions: contents: read` to ci.yml. The
  Coveralls step only needs the token to talk to coveralls.io, not write
  to the repo; this PR's own CI run validates the step still works.

Deferred #14 (dropping the vite@8.1.0 minimumReleaseAge excludes):
vite 8.1.0 is still inside pnpm 11's release-age window, so removing the
exclude would break installs — wait until it ages out.

Build + tests (28) + lint + e2e + audit all green.
