- closed #106 - Replaced & &1.type with a pattern match that returns :unknown for non-map parts, preventing BadMapError when unsupported content includes bare strings or
  other non-map values.
- closed #107 - Added normalize_type/1 clause for {:union, type_specs} that maps each branch through normalize_item_spec/1, so union branch specs get pattern compilation,
  numeric constraint validation, and recursive normalization -- consistent with how arrays and tuples are handled.
