* added option to skip metadata parsing as this can be slow for large npar/nobs

* more tune ups in pypestworker

* more worker stuff

* added some sugar to results handler to help with programmatic access to a sequence of ensemble/population files

* chasing CI issue on linux

* explicitly casting dataframe cols and index to str

* test

* testing what happens if we let portmgr pick the port by default in start_workers

* small rev to how port is choosen in start workers
