descape: Restart the decoder whenever needed

This fixes the escape sequence decoder in order to:

* Cancel the current escape sequence whenever a CAN or SUB character is
  received as input, and restart reading bytes normally (which may or may
  not be a escpe sequence).
* Cancel the current escape sequence whenever a new ESC character is received
  as input, and start decoding the new escape sequence immediately.

A number of tests which exercise this facet of the decoder are added as well.
