Prepare for Scala 3 support - easy code changes (#751)

- Remove final from case objects - not supported by Scala 3.
- Fix outdated Scala 2 syntax warnings.
- Add explicit types to implicit values - in many cases like this, Scala
3 doesn't compile.
- Make scodec imports Scala 3 friendly. Some things under scodec package
changed for Scala 3, but if it is imported with * it works.
- Remove type arg variance where possible - Scala 3 doesn't like it in
pattern-matching.
