Update links in documentation and pyspelling config (merge commit)

Merge branch 'update/docs-links' into 'main'
* Temporarily ignore files arg for pre-commit spellcheck

* Add compound word option to pyspelling tasks. Re-do wordlist.

* Fix python pyspelling task. Fix spelling mistakes.

* Fix pyspelling spellchecking urls. Make separate tasks for markdown and rst

* Update broken and permanent redirect links in documentation

Closes #856 and #857
