Remove python2 compatibility code (#63)

- remove `basestring`/`long` aliases, and use
 `str`/`int` directly
- remove `__long__` method
- remove `unicode_format` conditions in strftime
- replace "long integer" by "integer" in some
  comments and fix at the same time a mistake in
  a comment where "milliseconds" was used in place
  of "microseconds"
