Enhance error handling in configuration setup, fix issue #221

This commit handles potential TypeErrors, AttributeErrors, and ValueErrors that can occur during configuration setup in 'qt_gui.py'. It provides detailed logging in case of errors and resets the settings to default values to maintain the application stability. Moreover, user notifications have been improved to provide more clear information regarding the required actions after a settings reset.
