Add or update controller tests.

There are a lot of weird problems observed with the controller tests (or the controller implementations themselves).
Several warnings have been added.

Every now and then (prior to these changes) the AuthController will fail.
Looking at the `AuthControllerTest`, it becomes unclear how some of these tests ever worked (NULL pointer exceptions, etc...).
Completely re-write the `AuthControllerTest`, utilizing mocks.
