Further simplify protocol API.

Each protocol now directy exposes `emit` and `on` methods, similar to
normal event emitters. Since a protocol isn't a "real" emitter though,
we don't have to escape special events (e.g. "error") and can therefore
use exactly the same method names.

Also:

+ Expose listener inside `on` callbacks (consistent with the parameters
  passed when emitting the event, and potentially useful).
+ Set context inside message callbacks to the protocol (consistent with
  common events).
