Solved issue where ajax would not work on feed#show until a hard refresh by waiting to add the ajax until the turbolink had finished loading (as suggested by http://guides.rubyonrails.org/working_with_javascript_in_rails.html#page-change-events . Moved the view of the latest articles to _article.html.erb, limited the list of latest Articles to only show those that had not been read yet, and provided a checkbox to mark the Articles on the front page as having been read. At this time the Article will not disappear after having been marked as having been read.
