Gate operands on the nvidia module's sysfs initstate The toolkit-validation init container of every operand that runs through the NVIDIA runtime waits for toolkit-ready and for a loaded nvidia module. The module half greps /proc/modules for '^nvidia '. /proc/modules lists a module while it is still initializing (Loading) and while it is being removed (Unloading), and the grep matches both. The gate can therefore open in the middle of a driver load or unload, which is the window it exists to close. Read /sys/module/nvidia/initstate instead. The kernel reports "live" there only once module init has completed, and "coming" or "going" otherwise. The attribute has been part of the sysfs module ABI since 2.6.19 and is how the validator already detects the module, through /sys/module/nvidia/refcnt. -s keeps the loop's output limited to its own waiting message while the module is absent. The WSL2 /dev/dxg path is unchanged. Signed-off-by: Giulio Calzolari <gcalzolari@nvidia.com> (cherry picked from commit aa22a3852)
