Add extensible authentication policies and Basic auth

Let applications subclass Authentication and pass one policy or an iterable to Registry. Add Basic credential policies, optional OAuth metadata, and Principal namespaces while retaining identity-based session ownership. Cover both HTTP transports and document the public API.
