Fix race condition in TestAggregator/TestFlushAll (#6796)

* Fix race condition in TestAggregator/TestFlushAll

Synchronize background goroutines with the main test goroutine using
buffered channels instead of calling t.Log/assert/require from within
them. Verified with 5 repeated -race runs, all clean.

Fixes #6794

* Address review: log after evt.Running(), comment on cancel()

* Fix gci formatting (missing trailing newline)
