Fix #533: accept binary database keys (#571)

Adds size-checked buffer overloads to Database::key() and
Database::rekey(), so callers can use binary or secure-memory keys
without copying them into std::string. Keeps the existing string
overloads as exported symbols and adds coverage for embedded NUL bytes,
invalid sizes, and builds without codec support.

Fixes #533.
