Keep the live console usable at phone widths and on macOS

Two console problems surfaced after the homepage example switched to
the default widget set and tutorial step 2 grew to 1000 items.

At a 375px viewport the homepage terminal fitted 38 columns, and the
default widgets need about 57 before the bar gets any room, so the bar
rendered empty and the homepage console test timed out waiting for a
coloured fill. The fit now shrinks the font instead of the column count
below 60 columns, and restores the full size when the host grows back.

Pyodide's own time.sleep costs about 80ms per 10ms call in Chromium on
macOS, so the 1000-item run hit the console's 30 second stop at item
379. The worker installs a perf_counter based sleep, which keeps to the
asked duration on every platform. A console test pins the per-call cost.
