address review: log mount error after timeout, poll for async lock release

- Async lock-release goroutine now logs the eventual Mount() error at
  Warning level so post-timeout mount failures aren't silently dropped.
- Replace the fixed sleep in TestMountWithTimeout with polling against a
  generous overall deadline so the async-release assertion doesn't flake
  on slow/loaded CI runners.
