ENH/TST: implement wavelet transform in arbitrary dimensions

This commit basically rewrites the complete bindings to the
`pywt` backend. Most important changes are:

- All decompositions and reconstructions now work in arbitrary
  dimensions.
- The multi-level code for both directions recursively calls the
corresponding single-level functionality. This is needed to
prepare for the implementation of adjoints for non-biorthogonal
wavelets since a correction step needs to be performed at each
  scaling level.
- The code is now much simpler and more generic.
- Tests are parametrized and should cover many more cases than
  the old tests.
- Documentation is now more specific and better structured.
