Remove four unused utils helpers (#343)

Drop `convert_md_to_py` and `is_dt_str` (no references anywhere),
`flatten` (only its own test referenced it), and
`store_retvals`/`StoredRetvalsFunctor` (only self-referenced in their
own docstring example; no fixture ever used them). Also prunes the
now-orphaned imports (textwrap, types, update_wrapper, chain, Path,
Generic, ParamSpec, Self) and the test_flatten test.
