fix(chat): preserve bottom through late layout growth (#29)

* ci: read release version from package.json (pnpm 11 fix)

pnpm 11 changed 'pnpm version' stdout to multi-line human-readable text,
which broke capturing it as the release version. Mutate package.json with
pnpm version, then read the real version back via node -p.
