sub_glue: fix glue implementation, #327

The glue compacting implementation was wrong and could compacted too
many chars (almost makes me wonder how did it even pass the previous
tests, probably went visibly wrong only when whitespace on left side was
long enough to break it).

Also added glue test for multi-line through backslash to see there's no
unexpected CR char inside source line there (there is NOT, all as
expected).
