### What kind of change does this PR introduce?

* If there are no netcdf files for a given year, the loop never loads
any dataset, `ds_allvars` remains None, and calling `.sel(...)` on None
raises an error. The fix skips those years with no input files so it
only tries to process years that actually contain datasets.
