* (fix) version regex support for multi-digit

* (chore) update dependencies and fix version checking

- use go 1.25
- update dependencies / vendoring
- allow multi-digit version strings like 2.10 by modifying regex
- adapt test case "too new" from using 2.35 to 3.0 to make it pass with new regex

* remove vendor, adapt CI
